Introduction to Visual Studio
Visual Studio Reform: The first version of VS (Visual Studio) was released in 1997 under the name Visual Studio 97 was version 5.0. The latest version of Visual Studio is 15.0, released on March 7, 2017. Also known as Visual Studio 2017. The latest version of supported versions of Visual Studio .Net is 3.5 – 4.7. Java was supported in older versions of Visual Studio, but the latest version does not support Java.
Versions of Visual Studio
There are 3 versions of Microsoft Visual Studio:
2. Expert: This is a commercial version of Visual Studio. It comes with Visual Studio 2010 and later. It supports XML and XSLT editing and includes tools such as Server Explorer and integration with Microsoft SQL Server. Microsoft offers a free trial of this version, and after trialperiod you will have to pay for its extension. Its main purpose is to provide flexibility (developer software for any type of application), productivity (powerful features such as CodeLens to increase your team’s productivity), collaboration (project planning tools, graphics, etc.) and the benefits of Microsoft Registry software. including Azure, Pluralsight, etc.
3. Business: This is a general solution, the most modern solution for teams with size and quality requirements. Microsoft is offering a free 90-day trial of this version, and after the trial period you will have to pay for its extension. The main advantage of this version is that it is very poor and offers high quality software.
Starting with Visual Studio 2017
You must first download and install Visual Studio. This way, you can go back to downloading and installing Visual Studio 2017. Remember to choose the basic .NET features when installing VS in 2017. If you forget, you will need to change the installation.
You can see several tool windows when you open Visual Studio and start typing the following:
Code editor: the user enters the code.
Results window: here Visual Studio displays results, compiler warnings, error messages and corrects information.
Solution Solution: Displays the files that the user is currently working on.
Features: It provides additional information and context for selected parts of the current project.
The user can also add windows as needed by selecting it from the View menu. In Visual Studio, tool windows can be split because the user can add more windows, delete existing ones, or move windows to make them better.
Multiple menus in Visual Studio: The user can find many menus in the top panel of Visual Studio, as shown below.
The commands for creating, opening and saving a project are in the File menu.
Find, Edit, Edit Number commandsare in the Edit menu.
The View menu is used to open additional tool windows in Visual Studio.
The project menu is used to add files and dependencies to the project.
To change settings, add functionality to Visual Studio using plug-ins and use other Visual Studio tools that can be enabled through the Tools menu.
The submenu is known as the toolbar, which provides quick access to frequently used commands. To add and remove commands, select View> Edit
Support for various programming languages in Visual Studio is complemented by a special name VSPackage, known as the Language Service.
When you install Visual Studio, features installed as a VSPackage file are available as a service.
The Visual Studio IDE provides three different types of services known as SVsSolution, SVsUIShell, and SVsShell.
SVsSolution is used to search for functionality in Visual Studio to find solutions and projects.
The SVsUIShell service is used to provide user profile functions, such as tabs, tabs, and so on.
The SvsShell service is used to register BOS packages.
